Parents are an integral part of Tender Roots.  The combination of being a cooperative school and having a Reggio Emilia program, makes our parents as equally important, as our staff.  Our parents are heavily involved and have the opportunity to shape the future of the school.  Many of our parents, just as our children, find that Tender Roots is where their long-term neighborhood friendships take root.

At Tender Roots, a parent or caregiver accompanies each child at all times.  There is no drop off option.  This is considered a privilege by our parents and is one of the main reasons why they chose to attend Tender Roots.

Each parent also has cooperative responsibilities. They are helping hands for the teachers, which allows the teachers longer, uninterrupted time with the children.

Parents are also required to take a position on the Advisory Committees.  A parent’s available time and interests are taken into account.  Parent participation in the committees is vital to the success of Tender Roots and to ensuring it is here for generations to come.

Tender Roots believes in educating the whole family.  We strive to take good care of our children, as well as our parents.  We offer parents support in many ways; from answering questions about parenting, to helping them understand their children as learner, to individualized support in how to navigate the preschool process when they move on.  Our parents know their questions are always welcomed and that we enjoy helping them.
